Pastor Robert M. Wecht and Family

My Dear Friends and Family,

For those of you have not yet heard or have met me, as of July 1, 2003 I was appointed the pastor of our church by Bishop Alfred Johnson. It is a joy and privilege to serve God and you here in Hamilton.

My name is Robert Wecht. My wife, Kimberly, is the pastor of the New Egypt UMC. We have four children, Elena who is thirteen, Sarah who is twelve, Hannah who is three, and baby Joshua, who is one. Our wonderful God has truly blessed me!

I was raised in a conservative Jewish home. I converted in 1989. Much of my life has been molded in the retail field but even though that phase of my life was productive I never found it fulfilling. After receiving the great gift of eternal life, I enrolled in the Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary's program to receive a Master of Divinity degree. In 1998 I graduated seminary and was ordained a Deacon. In 2001 I was ordained an Elder.

My first appointment was as the associate pastor of the Drexel Hill UMC in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. After two years I was appointed to the Saint Andrew's UMC in Havertown, Pennsylvania as a student pastor. After seminary, the Wayside UMC in Wayside, NJ became my responsibility. Five years later I find myself here in Hamilton.

In general, I am conservative in my beliefs yet I am very open to new ideas and new ways of praising and worshiping our Lord. I encourage all God's children to read their Bibles daily (and bring them to worship Sunday morning). I preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in every sermon I share. I also believe that music is one of the most effective ways to enhance the worship experience.

I realize that the transition of receiving a new pastor can bring many varying emotions. Change is never easy yet I truly believe that if we work together as a family of Christ we can overcome the barriers and the inevitable bumps in the road. There is much for us to do.

Our regular worship time is 10:00am.

If you would like to contact me in regards to any matter at all you can e-mail me at: pearsonmemorialumc@juno.com. (I am the only person who has access to this account) or you can call the church office at 609-888-1220.

Last of all my family, I ask you to keep my family and me in your prayers. Only through prayer and the power of God can any of us succeed in what our holy Lord has in store for the days ahead.

May the Lord bless you and keep you always!

For God's Glory,
Pastor Robert M Wecht
